We have all seen the adverts by Vistaprint for cheap business cards and anyone who has ever tried to use their site will know that the price they advertise you simply can't get as there are lots of hidden extras that creep in as you progress your order.
So are Vistaprint cheap or not?
The answer is no, they have established a client base who have seen prices on TV or other mediums and more than likely not shopped around to compare against other printing companies out there.
Let's do a little test of Vistaprint prices compared to our very own UKPrint4U prices on 10,000 A5 flyers and set to the same specifications for a fair comparison. The specification is 135gsm gloss, full colour CMYK process and double-sided.
10,000 flyers with Vistaprint came in at £263.79 as a sale price as they are normally £351.73. Delivery not included in the price shown.
10,000 flyers with UKprint4U.com come in at £134.95 as a standard price and includes free delivery to one UK mainland address.
So we see that the saving is not just a few pounds but almost half the price of Vistaprint!
Vistaprint really isn't cheap!
When we reach 150 likes we are going to have a competition so get people you know with businesses to join us. We will randomly select one person or business who have liked our page and we will design them a new business card and get 500 full colour CMYK, double-sided business cards on 400 gsm matt artboard with matt
lamination front and back printed and delivered to them for free... Not bad for just liking a page!!
The business card, that essential piece of face to face marketing that all businesses should have yet many businesses choose to ignore this very important item and skimp out when it comes to getting them printed.
Many opt to go down the vistaprint route because they believe they are cheap but then find out the true cost when it comes to checkout time with all the hidden extras that can pile up. They aren't cheap to buy yet they are a cheap and inferior product to what you can get on the market.
Always remember you only get one chance to create that good first impression and your business card is part of that impression you make. You business card needs to stand out and exude quality. We have many business cards that can do this but we would like to introduce to you our new Triple-Ply business cards.
Our luxury range of Triple-Ply business cards are aimed at those who see and understand then importance of the business card when they hand one over to an existing or potential new client.
The Triple-Ply business card weighs in at a hefty 815gsm so none of your 300gsm flimsy vistaprint rubbish. Two white outer layers of card are bonded onto a colour core. Currently the core colours on offer are red and black. The business cards are printed in full colour CMYK process and then have a luxury soft touch laminate added for a better finish and extra durability. The soft touch laminate feels like velvet or silk in your hands to the touch. Make no mistake, these cards are the business and every customer you hand one out to will keep it as it is too good to throw away and they will remember you.
In the future we are looking to increase the weight to 900gsm and offer a large range of colour cores.
Flyers are an inexpensive form of advertising and a good way to get to
the masses for a fairly small outlay but why are so many so bad and not
working as well for you as you would like?
It starts with the understanding of what a flyer is and what you are expecting from it? A
flyer is just like a point of sale display in a shop, it is there to grab a customers attention in a second and make them stop before they lose interest and toss it in the bin. If that attention is not gained then you probably will not get them as a client.
The problems we see all of the time are people treating a flyer like it is a brochure or a catalogue and trying to cram everything they do into a small space thinking they are covering all bases and doing a good job by getting so much information onto such a small advertising space.... WRONG!!!
All you have done is create something with no focal point to grab their attention, it looks cluttered, confused and in the bin it goes!!! If your business provides 10 different services then just feature one very prominently showing how good it is, draw them in to want to find out more. Put snippets of one or two other services too and then promote your website where they can look in depth at your full range in their own time because now they are interested. If it means you require 3-4 flyers to cover various things then that would be so much better to you and your potential customers.
They say that the average return per 1000 flyers is 1%-2% (10-20 customer enquiries), this is a little inflated and of course depends upon your business as there are so many variables. A takeaway may get a higher response, a bespoke handmade card maker for wedding and special occasions may get less due to being in a more niche market but will make a higher return per customer.
Poor design of your flyer puts you on the back foot straight away. A well designed and well planned out flyer could mean the difference between winning that customer of them going to a rival.
TAKE YOUR TIME AND GET IT RIGHT!!!
